The 2015 Ormonde Basson Merlot hails from the Darling region, where coastal breezes help develop grapes with rich character.
In the glass, it pours a deep garnet with excellent clarity. On the nose, ripe red fruits like raspberry and plum take centre stage, with hints of cedar and vanilla. The palate is silky and smooth, offering a medium body with flavours of black cherry, dark chocolate and a touch of spice. The finish is long, leaving a velvety trail of oak and subtle earthiness.
